Han along with his four friends went to a Pub around 10 O'clock, after a hectic day. It was their routine. They started to make plans for the coming weekend. Han’s mind was preoccupied with the thought whether to spend the weekend with his friends or at his Uncle's farm, which is on the outskirts of the city. He didn’t indulge himself in that topic but just kept nodding his head.
When they were leaving the Pub, Bartender said to Han, "See you again after midnight". Han sneered and replied, “You are too drunk to work Pal!”. His friends remarked, "He is playing with you Han, let’s go”. He reached his apartment, only two blocks away from the pub, half-conscious and straight away fell asleep. Next morning he woke up and saw a letter on the table which wasn't there before. He was terrified and rushed to read the letter. It read, "You should go at your Uncle's farm this weekend because he is lonely too!" This gave chills to Han as he had neither mentioned about his Uncle to anyone nor his weekend plans. He noticed that the door was open and to his surprise nothing was stolen. He thought someone must have heard him while he was talking to himself in the room, the previous day and must have thought of playing a prank. "But who could do this?", he wondered. Mrs Tress who lived just in the opposite room was too old to play a prank. Mr Darwis( another neighbour), was rather cold and seemed uninterested in knowing others. Han exclaimed, “John seems to be behind it!”, and continued, "He goes to college, appears to be a spoiled lad", he often lingers in the aisle and keeps an eye on everyone. He went straight to his room, next to that of Mrs Tress.
He rushed in ferociously and warned him not to play pranks anymore. John totally bewildered, sprung back at him; he was high. Neighbours came rushing to calm them down. Han just walked out slamming the door and thought of catching him flat-footed. This made him think that John is spying on him.
He closed and covered all the windows of his apartment.
Next morning he woke up again to find a letter placed next to him on the table and the door was open too. For a moment he just became numb and wondered, "What’s going on?". He regained his senses and got up to read the letter. It said, "I can see through your mind too", and also mentioned some Do's and Don’ts of what he should be doing in his life. The letter had in it all the answers for which he had been longing recently.
For instance:
"How much to invest in stock market?"
"How to ask my Boss for bonus?"
"How to compliment my crush"?
"What extra do I need to do to earn more?"
He never discussed it with anyone then who is writing him letters and that too personal information.
He again went to John’s room and found the door locked. Mrs Tress came and told that John went to his hometown for a week. This left him amazed as to who is behind all this!. Han then thought of staying up all night to see who does it. Maybe an evil spirit or some Psycho guy who breaks into his apartment while he is asleep, to make his life doubtful. He was tired of seeing unknown letters and an open door every morning.
The night came, he missed his Pub visit too.
He was curious to know the truth behind those letters, hours passed he saw no sign of anyone. It was six in the morning. He thought, “Who would come in the morning, Let’s take an hour’s nap before getting ready for work”, and dozed off. He woke up and saw something written on the wall; "Staying up late won’t help, it’s bad for health too."
This freaked him out. He was afraid to discuss his problem with his friends out of fear of being called a “maniac”. So he decided to place a camera in his room. He was already tired of staying up late the previous night, so he went to sleep. In the morning he again found a letter which said, "You can't escape me!".
He rushed to see the recorded video in which he saw himself writing those letters followed by leaving the apartment and returning in an hour that too drunk .He was suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder.
